Holiday Sparkle

Holiday season is fully in place and we have been already attending many fun & festive holiday parties. I am particularly happy because you can get away with a lot of sparkle and glitter during the holiday season- which I loveee. I picked some of my favorite pieces. A black blazer or a tux blazer (even better) will always be an essential piece in your wardrobe that you can literally wear with everything. If you want to add some action, pick a sequin jacket to top your little black dress. Or you can make a grand entrance in style with your glittery high heels which are so much fun!
And of course a mini sequin dress will be a glamorous choice to end  the year while you are sipping your champagne at the new year’s eve party!

Have a fabulous holiday season!!!

Verrieres & Sako Private Trunk Show

Last Sunday a friend of mine hosted a private trunk show at her place and myself & my fashionable girlfriends enjoyed a day of relaxed shopping in a private & personal setting while sipping our bellinis. It was a trunk show for Verrieres & Sako, an emerging hot local SF designer, whose designs made it to San Francisco Chronicle’s best dressed women of opening night galas for ballet, opera and symphony 3 years in a row. Owner and designer Stephanie Verrieres was there and that made this fun event much more special.  Her designs are modern, feminine and easy to wear. Trunk show pieces included sexy cocktail dresses with ruching details, sheath dresses that you can dress up or down, fitted wool jackets, silk blouses and pants, long silk coats and many more chic pieces with a color palette of mostly neutrals and red. We definitely found some nice pieces for ourselves to take home and it was a fabulous experience. Now I plan to host one at my place, will definitely keep you posted!

Wonderful host, Rebecca Zito (wearing a V&S dress) welcoming us to her place

Sara and I bought the same silk coat in different colors, will be perfect to wear over our gala gowns and cocktail dresses, actually I really liked it with jeans as well.

Whiteout - Spring'12 RTW

Fall made its way here with rain, colder weather and shorter days and I don’t think that many of us are in the mood for some white! I should correct it specifically to “white clothes”, because I was in the mood for a lot of white while decorating my new house recently. (Perhaps that is another topic but I’d love to write about my experience and share some pictures on another post).

Spring’12 RTW, white, ohh yess!  I was going to mention this palette cleanser, which symbolizes purity, minimalism, elegance, lightness and simplicity had been used by many designers in their spring 12 collections. It was one of the trends of spring’12 as always, (if you won’t wear white in warmer seasons when will you) but personally I enjoy using this neutral color more and more. Also this spring season silhouettes being very ladylike, gentle and sweet, the white color complements the purpose perfectly.

I picked my favorite whites and pearly pales. And if you are curious of other big trends of spring’12, they are; ruffles, florals & futuristic prints, acid brights, sporty-chic looks, suits, peplums, high shine metallics, lots of embellishments, fringes and mesh.
Enjoy!

SF Symphony & Opera Opening Night Galas

It has been so hectic lately that I can’t even post on my blog..Shame on me! But in this craziness I made it to two very big events in the city last week. I attended SF Symphony 100th year Opening Night Gala on Wednesday and SF Opera Opening Night Gala on Friday! Yesss and I managed to do it all with one day apart with a full time job. Both nights were full of style, elegance, glamour, music and good food. At the Symphony concert it was amazing to listen to Lang Lang's piano performance. On friday's opening I loved loved SF Opera’s new season opening production, Puccini’s masterpiece, “Turandot”, it was very dramatic and carried me away with its story, costumes, décor and beautiful music.

And the fashion...SF ladies did it again, spotted so many fabulous gowns on both nights. Red and pink were the popular colors as well as shades of purple and emerald green. A line gowns with big skirts, mermaid train gowns and tiered dresses were chosen by many fashionable ladies for this posh social scene.
Fairy tale glam summarizes these opening nights perfectly and most of us took our place in this colorful & dreamy act happily ever after..
